Attempted School Shooter Stopped, Turns Life Around - Shares Life Experience in "Battlescars"

(St. Paul, MN) - In 1976 fifteen-year-old Tim Hutchinson had been expelled from several schools, passed through two foster homes and dealt drugs. The young boy felt harassed at school and had been toting a handgun for several years. Then, one day he reached his breaking point. Violence seemed the only solution; There was no reason in his tortured mind not to carry out his evil plan. He stole a car and loaded it with an assault rifle, handgun, ammunition and
explosives. The high school was his destination. Fortunately, he was stopped just one block away.

That was then. His life has since completely turned around and he wants to help teens predisposed with similar intention. His autobiography, published by RiverStone Publishing, is entitled: Battlescars.

Teens need to know they have options other than violence," says Hutchinson. "They can better relate to someone who has lived a self-destructive life, come to understand it is possible to remove themselves from a series of poor choices and go on to lead healthy and productive lives," continued the author.

This is a story that details all the rage and hate that consumed him, all the violence that surrounded him, and how he survived and thrived. Mr. Hutchinson is committed to helping reduce violence in high schools through both his book and live classroom lectures. He says he understands why teens are becoming increasingly violent and wants to share his story to help them. His personal experience, graphically outlined in Battlescars and the eventual success in getting out of the circle of violence, has brought him as a guest on the nationally syndicated television show "Leeza."

Hutchinson hopes to further his mission to assist troubled teens with additional television and radio interviews and school lectures.

Battlescars is the shocking true story of one teen's battle against drugs, firearms, gangs, prostitution, the KKK and a downward spiral
that was sure to plummet him into an early grave. Only this time... there is a happier ending.
