NASHVILLE, TN -- 08/23/2002 -- Guests from AMD and AppletWare will appear on radio talk show "Let's Talk Computers". AMD is a global supplier of integrated circuits for the personal and networked computer including microprocessors, Flash memory devices, and support circuitry for communications and networking applications. Since 1997, AppletWare has been aiding PC users throughout the world with its state of the art search and retrieval software. Lets Talk Computers ranks as one of the longest-running computer radio talk shows, and airs on multiple radio stations weekly - and 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the Internet.
AMD exposes the megahertz myth with the release of the Athlon 2400+ and 2600+ processors. Two years ago 0% of consumers used their computers for digital editing, now 42% do. With the increased use of digital cameras and videos, consumers are pushing their processors into performing tasks that only studios used to do. AMD creates processors that actually speed up your programs in the real world whereas other processors may succumb to "megahertz madness" and clock fantastic numbers in the lab that fall flat under real situations. Mark De Frere, the Athlon Brand Manager, discusses the hot new XP processors.
With the exponential growth in data storage capacities among PC's and networks alike, unrelated documents like e-mails, text documents, and spread sheets can easily get lost in the shuffle. Steven Ashe -- President of AppletWare Inc. --discusses two of AppletWare's most popular and useful products: DataDetective and Data Detective Network Version. Unlike the search function in the Windows OS which searches only on file names, Data Detective finds documents instantly by requiring only that the user recall keywords within that document(s)' content. Full text Boolean searches are supported, which enables users to search their PCs and Networks for documents in the same fashion as they would use an Internet search engine to find web pages. The results of those queries are the document titles displayed as active links. Data Detective supports a wide variety of file formats and supports multi-language and even multi-alphabets!
