LOS ANGELES ITALIAN FILM AWARDS
LANDMARK TRIBUTE IN PERSON TO CARLO VERDONE
The Los Angeles Italian Film Awards (LAIFA) proudly introduces the first tribute ever presented in Los Angeles to Italian
actor / director /comedian Carlo Verdone.
Verdone is a Italian cinema powerhouse with a long career dating from his first film in 1969 to work with greats Sergio Leone, Leo Benvenuti and Piero De Bernardi among others.
Talent runs in the family. His father, Mario Verdone was a renowned film historian, professor and influential member of the school of Cinema Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
However, it was while working with his brother, Luca, that Carlo discovered his uncommon gift for playing multiple characters.
This discovery culminated in the groundbreaking play Tali & Quali". Verdones performance is an astonishing foray into humor and acting that has him in twelve separate roles. It influenced the way comedy is presented today - particularly in Britain and America where the multiple personality" format is not only common, but key.
The milestone tribute is the centerpiece of a two-day event presented by LAIFA October 26th and 27th in Hollywood. The slate includes 6 feature films, the requisite hosted celebrity gala and a
very special private reception with Mr. Verdone himself (schedule permitting). All special events are catered and open bar with ticket / pass purchase.
Passes are available on a very limited basis and are first-come, first-served only. Additionally, a small quantity of passes may be available to the public for the private reception with Carlo Verdone.
