Online Support Group Helps People with Chronic, Untreated Pain Society for Ongoing Relief of Chronic Excruciating Pain (Sorce-P)

If you are one of the estimated 50 million people in the U.S. with chronic, intractable pain, and are having trouble finding a doctor to treat you, we can help. Every day more people join our on-line support group, many as a last resort as they contemplate and prepare for the final and tragic end of their pain through suicide. Everything we do, we do at absolutely no cost to you. We are all volunteers who also suffer chronic, excruciating pain 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our on-line forum began May 20, 2002 and we are already approaching 300 members. The members share stories of the many years they have spent suffering untreated pain because of so many doctors reluctance to adequately treat them. But these members soon found a doctor (with our help), and they began working to help newer members get the help that seemed impossible to find for themselves such a short time ago.

We require very little information; including your name, age, where you live and what your diagnoses are. With this information we can often find you a doctor within 24 hours of your request for help. We even have ways of flying you, at no cost, to a specialist in pain management if there are no doctors in your area. You will, of course, be responsible for paying the doctor, but we also have ways to help you receive any of the 975 different free or low-cost medications available to people who qualify.

No matter what your health problem is, chances are there is someone in our group that knows of it or has personally experienced it. If not, there are people who will tirelessly research the Internet until we find a professional opinion regarding your status. We have charts for you to determine the level of your pain and recommendations regarding documentation for your doctor(s). We have lists of medications and possible side effects as well as personal experience stories about most of the drugs used for pain today.
