Pediatric Practice expands in S. Miami with a homegrown, enthusiastic, Board Certified Pediatrician

Jose J. Zayas, D.O. has joined the Pediatric practice of Jose Luis, M.D., 8500 SW 92 St, #104. The practice has over 18 years of experience and now provides two Board Certified Pediatricians to provide knowledgeable care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. We are affiliated with Miami Childrens Hospital, Baptist & South Miami Hospital. The office is open Monday through Friday, with available services 24-hours a day. A local product has sprouted wings in Miami. Jose J. Zayas, D.O. has joined Jose Luis, M.D. in the practice of Pediatrics not far from where he grew up

Dr. Zayas, attended elementary school locally at St. Timothy and high school at St Brendan.

He went on to the University of Florida where he was active with many community events via the Boys & Girls Club while obtaining his B.S. There, he also assisted in research in the field of dyslexia, under the supervision of Christiana Leonard, Ph.D.

He attended Medical school at Michigan State University and graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. He completed his Pediatric training at Miami Childrens Hospital in 2001. There he was recognized by his peers as The Best Pediatric Resident" and was awarded The The Augustin Castellanos Resident of the Year Award.

Dr. Zayas young career is marked by some rapid achievements. He is already Board Certified and a Fellow of the Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Besides being a fellow he has the rare distinction of being a member of two sections in the AAP: 1) the Section on International Health 2) the Young Physicians Section. Additionally, Dr. Zayas sat on the Bio-Ethics Committee during his training at Miami Childrens Hospital.

Besides a busy private practice Dr Zayas keeps his skills sharp by occasionally working at Miami Childrens Hospitals Rapid Care Center. He also finds time to pursue clinical research as the Medical Director at Miami Clinical Research

In April 2002, Dr. Zayas joined Dr. Luis in practice.
