European exhibition debut for "new" Bookham at ECOC 2002
Bookham Technology will be demonstrating its complete end-to-end capability for the first time in Europe at next month's ECOC 2002 flagship optical communications event in Copenhagen.
Bookham Technology will be demonstrating its complete end-to-end capability for the first time in Europe at next month's ECOC 2002 flagship optical communications event in Copenhagen.
Following its acquisition of Marconi's optical components business, in February 2002, the company has made an important acceleration towards achieving its goal of becoming the world-leading provider of powerful solutions for passives, actives and amplifiers for the complete range of customer optical networking requirements.
"Bookham is totally resolved to emerge from the industry's current downturn as the leading optical components business on a truly world scale," said Bookham President and Chief Executive Officer, Giorgio Anania.
"We have made remarkable progress already and many of the visitors to ECOC - which we regard as a major event - will have their first chance to see the new Bookham in action and to talk to our very talented people. It is an opportunity they should not miss."
For its customers, cost reduction is essential and breadth of product line is critical. Customers are looking for suppliers with the staying power to survive the current difficulties while offering cost-effective solutions that reduce not only component cost but also total installed cost while maintaining, or even increasing, product reliability and manufacturability. Bookham leverages its core technologies to deliver such solutions to the industry.
Today, the company has a leading technical position with three disruptive technologies that deliver intrinsic cost reduction: Silicon-based ASOC, Indium Phosphide (InP) and Gallium Arsenide (GaAs). Its new capabilities in automated mass production of both GaAs and InP optical ICs complement its investment in silicon optical circuits to produce one of the industry's most comprehensive product portfolios.
Bookham's product line-up has been broadened to include the key components required for next-generation optical networks, including fixed and tunable lasers, high-speed GaAs modulators, transmitters, receivers and erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs). Combining these advanced components with silicon-based optical integrated products enables us to offer true end-to-end solutions throughout the network.
Experience the "new" Bookham at ECOC booth#95, where the company will demonstrate its product range and end-to-end capability.
