ARGOGROUP AND INTAVA PARTNER TO DRIVE TAKE-UP OF ROBUST MOBILE DATA SERVICES WORLDWIDE
Partnership to result in maximized quality of experience for end-users; cross licensing of technology and strategic re-seller agreement.
Bellevue, Washington and Elstead, England -- August 27, 2002 -- Intava Corporation, a leading provider of marketing and development technologies for mobile applications, and Argogroup, the leader in testing software for wireless data services, today announced a multi-faceted partnership agreement designed to provide robust mobile data services to partners and customers.
Argogroup and Intava share a unique vision on the future of how mobile applications will be created and used," said Troy Carroll, CEO of Intava. In working together, our customers will benefit from the only complete solution for building, testing and marketing successful mobile applications that users world-wide can use and enjoy."
Through the partnership, the two companies will market and sell each others product offerings, thus broadening each companys market reach. Intavas Mobile Experience Framework (MEF) allows the display and operation of mobile devices to be simulated within Web pages and desktop applications, enabling end-users to see the value of buying a new mobile-ready device or subscribing to a new content channel. Argogroups Monitor Master, the leading testing tool for wireless data services, including WAP, SMS and MMS, has enjoyed success in Europe, and Argogroup will now bring this success to North America.
"Consumers are often frustrated with learning how to fully exploit new devices," says Mike Gotta, Senior Vice President of META Group. "Tools that simulate mobile environments, available via the web or a PC, enable users to more effectively explore application and service capabilities. This lowers the 'fear factor some consumers have around buying new technology. Companies can also leverage simulation tools to improve overall marketing programs, as well as internal training and support for internal staff."
The partnership between the two companies has already resulted in real benefits. Through the strategic alliance, Argogroup OEM Intavas highly graphical technology to provide a WYSIWYG device simulation and preview feature which improves the ease of use of its market-leading mobile Internet Application testing tool, Monitor Master. Customers using Monitor Master include Vizzavi, Swisscom, British Airways, and others.
As a result of the relationship, each company is able to increase the capabilities delivered to target markets, while at the same time focusing on core competencies and sustaining a competitive advantage in the chosen marketplace. Argogroup will assist Intava in expanding its capabilities to better serve the European, Middle East and African (EMEA) market needs while Intava will assist Argogroup in expanding its capabilities to better serve the needs of the North American market.
Intavas MEF is a wonderful complement to our concept of Quality of eXPerience (QXP). Our products focus on measuring and improving the end-user experience when using mobile data services and Intavas MEF allows operators and content providers to easily demonstrate the benefits of wireless applications while end-users see exactly what the Quality of Experience will be for themselves." said David Frodsham, CEO of Argogroup. This strategic relationship will enable both organizations to improve the overall end-user experience, while providing compelling, multi-channel Internet applications that are cost effective to build, test and run."
Available immediately, MEF is licensed to support a wide variety of configurations ranging from an individual web site to a large server cluster. Device profiles can be purchased individually and can be easily added to an existing installation.
