Ted Simmons, creator of legendary ads for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, will speak
AUGUST 30, 2002, Wichita, Kansas ... "The Last Time I Saw Lynchburg - How To Build A Trusted Brand With A Single Selling Message," is the topic of an informative presentation that will be delivered by Ted Simmons, chief executive officer of Arnold Worldwide-St. Louis, at the American Advertising Federation of Wichita (AAFW) chapter meeting on Tuesday, October 1, 2002.
Arnold Worldwide-St. Louis is global agency of record for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, the best selling American whiskey in the world. Simmons' relationship with the brand began in 1968 when he started writing the now legendary black-and-white print ads featuring life in Lynchburg, Tennessee, where Jack Daniel's has been distilled since 1866.
Today, Arnold Worldwide-St. Louis produces TV, print, out-of-home, radio and cinema on five continents for Jack Daniel's, now sold in 140 nations. The brand generally ranks Number One in top-of-mind awareness among all distilled spirits. More than 6.5 million cases are sold annually.
The AAFW meeting will begin at 11:45 a.m. at The Olive Tree Bistro at 2949 North Rock Road. Using color slides and videotapes, Simmons will discuss how the advertising principles that have helped Jack Daniel's become a trusted and successful brand worldwide can be applied to any product or service. The discourse will be rendered in the relaxed and insightful manner that typifies Simmons' personality.

The October 1 meeting will open at 11:45 a.m. Simmons' presentation will begin at 12:15 p.m. after lunch. Cost is $15 for AAFW members with early reservations; $8 for students with early reservations; $25 for non-members and walk-ins. With approximately 80 members, AAFW is part of the American Advertising Federation, the Washington, D.C.-based association that represents 50,000 industry professionals.
