IEMS 6 Provides New Options for Microsoft Exchange Sites Looking to Migrate to Linux
As a result of growing demand from Microsoft Exchange administrators for a Linux alternative, IMA has released version 6 of its Internet Exchange Messaging Server (IEMS) with added Calendaring and Scheduling features and Microsoft Exchange migration tools.
Hong Kong, August 27, 2002 -- As a result of growing demand from Microsoft Exchange administrators for a Linux alternative, IMA has released version 6 of its Internet Exchange Messaging Server (IEMS) with added Calendaring and Scheduling features and Microsoft Exchange migration tools.
Release 6 of IEMS is a groundbreaking release for IMA. Like the original IMA Gateway products, which were industry leaders in terms of essential features found nowhere else, V6 provides unique product differentiation in several key areas. Microsoft Outlook users can now continue to use their Calendaring and Scheduling features with a Linux backend solution. New Microsoft Exchange migration tools make the move to IEMS straightforward.
In addition to running on all major Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems, IEMS 6 also adds additional user and administrative security features. It provides for the privacy of confidential data through TLS (SSL) support for POP3 and IMAP4 connected mail clients as well as for the administrator web-based tools.
Tim Kehres, IMA president said The most feedback we have been hearing from existing and prospective customers is for a Linux based alternative where users can continue to use their Microsoft Outlook client without loosing Calendaring and Scheduling capabilities. The recent release of IEMS 6 adds these capabilities to an already feature rich messaging environment."
Additional information regarding IMA and IEMS 6, including a free 15-user promotional version can be found at the IMA web site.
