OfficeClip-In-A-Box is the server component for a suite of 15 workflow-based applications, which include time and expense reporting, project tracking, calendar, messaging, e-mail, office directory and resource allocation

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 2002--OfficeClip, a subsidiary of Cosec Corporation, has released OfficeClip-In-A-Box 6.2.1, its latest version of the intranet-based, enterprise application software.
OfficeClip-In-A-Box is the server component for a suite of 15 workflow-based applications, which include time and expense reporting, project tracking, calendar, messaging, e-mail, office directory and resource allocation. All of the OfficeClip applications can be installed behind a firewall and can be accessed via various devices, including handheld computers and mobile phones, as well as regular web browsers.
Initially released in 1999, OfficeClip is now being used by project teams in many organizations worldwide because the software products are tuned to the needs of teams working in medium- to large-sized organizations. "We have used OfficeClip for managing projects for Fortune 500 companies," says Pablo Gersberg, Director, Akibia, Inc. "Among other things, we used time tracking, project tracking, personnel and document tracking. It is interesting to see the power and simplicity in one package."
The current release enhances the OfficeClip suite with a new e-mail application. The e-mail application allows users to consolidate many e-mails from various sources within OfficeClip.
OfficeClip is completely re-implemented in the Microsoft.Net framework using ASP.Net, C#, XML and Web Services. "Converting our application to the Microsoft.Net platform will provide us extensibility, flexibility and speed. We have already seen a few folds increase in performance and manageability," says Sameer Pateria, Architect of the OfficeClip product.
By taking advantage of this platform, OfficeClip has also implemented mobile interface, international locale and reporting using Crystal Reports. The backend of OfficeClip works with SQL Server or MSDE (which is bundled with the OfficeClip server). A port to Oracle database is being planned for the future release.
Starting with the current version, OfficeClip will be available in both French and English languages. Modules for other languages are being developed and are planned to be released along with later versions of OfficeClip. A new developer toolkit and Presentation Layer source code is provided to make it easy for developers to tune the software to their needs. In addition, the site administrators will be able to tune OfficeClip to a great extent using XML-based configuration files.
OfficeClip competes with similar products in its space by providing flexible and workflow-based applications at a reasonable cost to its users. It also provides both a server-based and hosted version of its software. The OfficeClip-In-A-Box server product is currently available at a discounted rate from its website (http://www.officeclip.com). For a limited time, the server license, five user licenses and the developer toolkit will be available free to all users. Additional licenses are available at an extra fee. OfficeClip also has a hosted version of the software available at its website, which companies may access for a monthly fee with a 30-day-free evaluation period.
