The Soiree, a quarterly event presented by L. A. Women in Music, provides a venue for members and other artists to perform their music, get feedback and network with an audience of their peers. A wide range of musical styles and genres is presented, featuring the following performers (in alphabetical order): Wendy Conrad, Charles Donovan, Heidi Frank, JD Hinton, Marcy K, Judy Lamppu, Scott Lippincott, Kat Parsons and Tanya Winch, concluding with a performance by Harriet Schock.
Established in 1986, L. A. Women in Music is a non-profit organization, made up of women and men dedicated to providing career opportunities and education to women and men, while acknowledging and expanding upon the many unique and valuable contributions women make in the industry. The goals and activities of the organization are founded on the belief that women and men working together, sharing abilities and expertise, will strengthen the business and the music that is at its heart.
With workshops, seminars, interactive panel discussions and special events held throughout the year, where one-on-one discussion, support and the exchange of ideas are nurtured and encouraged. Attendees receive a unique opportunity to broaden their understanding of the business and gain access to a wide range of career resources.
Members of L. A. Women in Music include recording artists, music publishers, musicians, managers, songwriters, film composers, attorneys, label executives, recording engineers, producers, publicists, promoters, etc. -- on both sides of the desk and stage. Members are from all career levels within the musical community from professionals with years of experience to those who are just starting out.
