Leading Edge Aviation Booming with Jobs Available
Despite 9/11 Setbacks in the Aviation Industry

AMARILLO, TX -- September 2002 -- Leading Edge Aviation Services of Amarillo, Texas, the largest established independent aircraft painting company in the world, is thriving despite the threat of recession and setbacks in the aviation industry.

The U.S. unemployment rate was reported at 5.9 percent in Summer 2002, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Many industries that have been affected by weak global markets and the events of last September are showing little sign of improvement.

Not the case with Amarillos Leading Edge, a company that could have been severely impacted as a direct result of last years terrorist attacks. In an economy showing signs of struggle, and an aviation industry so drastically impacted by the attacks that upwards of 200,000 layoffs occurred, Leading Edge Aviations business is going strong.

Despite the sluggish growth in the U.S. job market, current lay-off and hiring freeze trends, Leading Edge has employment opportunities at all levels. The company has virtually no remaining competitors in their specialized market. That is good news for individuals looking for work in the aviation industry or general civil categories.

All our hangers are currently booked beyond capacity from now until well into 2003" said Mike Manclark, President of Leading Edge. This is an excellent sign of things to come. Not just future company growth, but the creation of even more jobs in our community".

The company has been in business for over 16 years and is under long term contract with the Nations largest air carriers to paint all types and sizes of aircraft. Leading Edge has painted over 1500 aircraft in the last 4 years alone.
