PRESS RELEASE
MAJOR BREAK-THROUGH IN COLOUR TECHNOLOGY:
24-HOURS VISIBILITY
BrightSign GmbH, a German company, has recently introduced a revolutionary new colour system.
BrightSign System Colours permit full four-colour offset and screen printing of any (photographic) image which under normal conditions appears as an above standard high quality printed item, but which lights up as if backlit when an ultra-violet light source is thrown across it.
In daylight, BrightSign System Colours become very vibrant. They provide sharper contrast between colours than conventional colours and extra depth and dimension (3-D).
In the dark, under UV-light, all colours, colour shades and half-tones posses luminous qualities, unlike conventional fluorescent UV-active inks which only come in crude colours. They appear to be even more flush with pigment than under daylight.
The 24 hours visibility of all material, printed with BrightSign Colours is a real innovation and unique in the world. Experts believe that it will set a totally new colour standard in advertising, sales promotion and product packaging.
BrightSign helps to develop more distinctive, eye-catching, and attention-grabbing new media design concepts, which will enable products to stand out in the market place.
In outdoor advertising, in supermarkets, at points of sale, in vending machines, and at entertainment venues, the BrightSign Colour System provides new opportunities for better product visibility. In particular large formats in outdoor advertising will become more effective because BrightSign Colours are more vibrant during the day and light up totally free from reflections as if backlit under invisible UV-light in the dark.
In addition, the BrightSign Colour System will create new possibilities for fighting product forgery, especially in improving the security trail in a number of branded consumer goods markets.
BrightSign System Colours consists of the standard CMYK colour line Cyan (C), Magenta (M), Yellow (Y) and black (K) (according to the Euroskala norm, which is close to the US Swap / Kodak standard Colours). They can be used by any printing shop (whether big or small) in the same way as conventional printing inks. There is no need for any technical adaptation or manipulation to existing machinery or process.
The new colours are produced, under BrightSign license, by two internationally renowned colour manufacturers: Coates Screen Inks (an affiliate of Sun Chemicals) and Epple Druckfarben. Both companies are certified under ISO norms.
BRIGHTSIGN System Colours have a negligible environmental impact. BrightSign UV-active inks contain virtually no VOCs and full comply with ambient air quality standards. All detailed information is published in mandatory Safety Data Sheets which are accessible at the BrightSign production partners websites: http://www.coates.de and http://www.epple-druckfarben.de.
