STUDENT BEATS OUT 23,000 IN SNAPPLE COMMERCIAL CONTEST
Student beats on 23,000 in the "Snapple Whats Your Story" Contest. Now his idea will be turned into the next commercial and will premier on MTV.
SAN DIEGO STATE STUDENT BEATS OUT 23,000 AND WINS SNAPPLE NATIONWIDE COMMERCIAL CONTEST
Troy Thomas a San Diego Film and Television student won the Grand Prize in the Snapple "Whats Your Story Contest." Snapple received over 23,000 ideas for their next nationwide commercial. The contest was a nation wide contest and Troy was the only west coast finalist.
The commercials feature Snapple bottles portraying humans in awkward corky situations. The Snapple company selected four finalist out of the 23,000 entries. It was now up to the rest of the world to decide who would win. Snapple posted the four finalist on their web-site. Who ever received the most votes would win and have their personal story turned into a nation wide Snapple Commercial. It would also be used in a Snapple campaign event which includes billboards, magazine adds and other forms of advertisement.
Troy's idea came from a situation he experienced in high school. The commercial will show four Snapple bottles cruising down the boulevard looking for girls. They pull up to a stoplight and notice a group of girls nearby. They begin showing off by doing hydraulics in their car. The car bounces up, down and side to side. Suddenly it goes out of control and ejects one of the Snapple bottles out of the back seat.
The commercial should air in October and production starts at the end of the month. Troy will be part of the production team and will be able to witness his story be made into a commercial.
