The Family & Emergency Services program at the Christian Service Center will kick off its second annual Operation Orlando" food drive today in hopes of filling their food pantry.

(PRWEB) September 11, 2002 -- The Family & Emergency Services program at the Christian Service Center will kick off its second annual Operation Orlando" food drive today in hopes of filling their food pantry.

"Demand is up 37% in our food pantry," stated Robert Stuart, CEO of the Christian Service Center. "Many families in Central Florida are continuing to see the effects of last years terrorist attacks and we need the help of our community."

The Center is asking area churches, schools, and civic organizations to collect non-perishable food items such as canned vegetables, tuna, and soup. To get involved call the Centers Director of Volunteer Services, Tommy Deal, at 407-425-2523 x232.

Since 1971, the Christian Service Center has been a source of comfort to those less fortunate individuals. Family & Emergency Services is the founding service of the Christian Service Center and the one most utilized by our clients. This program serves low-income and welfare families in the Central Florida community. The agency does not discriminate because of age, sex, origin or religion.
