As we approach the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 11 September, our memories go back to that tragic moment when thousands of our fellow human beings were barbarously killed. This time for reflection reminds us to continue to realistically assess our role in defeating international terrorism, as the United Nations Security Council will do in adopting a statement against terrorism during a high-level session to be held on the first-year anniversary of the attack.
