AUTHOR TO PRESENT AT APPLESCRIPT TRAINING EVENT
Ethan Wilde will demo scripting QuickTime, Illustrator in New Orleans
AppleScript Pro Sessions offers training in AppleScript, an automation technology from Apple Computer included with every Macintosh.
The organizers of AppleScript Pro Sessions are pleased to announce that Ethan Wilde, author of three AppleScript books, will be leading two training sessions. The five-day training event in New Orleans November 4-8 is a unique opportunity to learn more about AppleScript, the powerful built-in automation technology from Apple Computer.
Wilde's latest book is "Scripting Adobe Illustrator" available from Adobe Press. On Thursday, November 7, he will be covering using AppleScript with Illustrator, and on the following day he will lead a section on scripting QuickTime.
"We are very pleased to have Ethan join us for several reasons," said Ray Robertson of Scripting Matters, co-organizer of the event. "He is an acknowledged expert in the field, an excellent author, and for the first time, we will be offering information about scripting QuickTime at this event."
Suited for both beginning and experienced scripters, the class emphasis is on practical scripting information you can use across a range of applications. Additional applications to be covered include InDesign, QuarkXPress, Photoshop, FileMaker Pro, Acrobat, the Finder, and BBEdit, as well as the latest information on AppleScript features in Mac OS X v10.2.
"AppleScript is the key to automation in the publishing industry, and that
key is becoming more powerful," said Shane Stanley, co-organizer of
AppleScript Pro. "To ignore it is to cede a growing advantage to your
competitors."
Early Bird pricing (available until October 1) is $400 per day, with discount packages offered for those attending three days or more. The discounted fee is $1500 for those attending all five days.
The event will be held at the Pontchartrain Hotel in the Garden District, with easy access to New Orleans attractions via the St. Charles streetcar. Attendees may reserve a room at the hotel for a special group rate of $129/night, but the number of rooms is limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
