Life or Death on CD, Video and Book
Ex-New York City Career Criminal Lou Acosta went into a coma in 1988 at an Ohio Prison only to wake up 7 hours later a changed man. Today Lou has published and produced a book, a video and a music CD that promotes a positive lifestyle.
Book, CD, Video Release
It is not very often that someone writes a book, records a CD, or produces a video to help others unless he or she will profit from it. Lou Acosta has turned his life experience into helping people. Whether it is a book for convicts, a video tape dealing with drugs or alcohol abuse, or a positive message in a hip hop CD, Lous message is very clear.
He is a modern-day outreach worker. He reaches out to people with alternative and creative formats to accomplish traditional goals. Lou grew up in New York City surrounded by music, drugs, and mobsters, and his former lifestyle left him abused, confused and incarcerated. A near-death experience helped transform Lous lifestyle into who he is today.
After Lou was released, he went back to finish college and received a dual degree. Lous day job is as a prevention education specialist, but hes also a father, an author, songwriter, performer and a music and video producer. His 2001 video Stop da Violence" won a national Telly award beating out over 11,000 entries. Lous books, CDs and videos are also passed on to juveniles, inmates, ex-addicts and churchfolk.
