The ECCO PORTAL: latest news from IEMCA bar feeders

Thanks to the implementation in IEMCA website of the ECCO portal (E-Customer care online)users can directly access to services and information from different sources of IEMCA company. This new tool enables suppliers and customers as well as agents and installation technicians to follow at any time the progress of their orders or consult and handle information by direct dialogue with the company.

As of July 2002, the IEMCA website will have an important new feature designed to optimise relations with our companies: the ECCO (E-Customer Care Online) portal, that gives users online access to corporate services and information from a variety of sources. By means of ECCO users can access in Italian, English, French and German one of the following profiles: Customer, Supplier, Agent, Installation technician.

Through the Customer area, users can follow the progress of orders, purchase accessories and spare parts, download manuals, consult the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) or directly contact specific IEMCA offices.

From the Supplier area, suppliers will be able to follow the processing of their orders, download drawings, manuals (or sections), as well as monitor the degree of satisfaction of IEMCA with their services.

Agents and Installation technicians can consult and handle information of particular interest by direct dialogue with the company.

The investment made in this new tool of Information Technology is important not only from a financial viewpoint but also for the energy and human resources deployed. I am confident that the sharing of as much information as possible with all actors involved in our activities will bring benefits in both efficiency and effectiveness.

The internal upgrading brought about by the implementation of the ECCO portal will affect the following activities:
- order management;
- purchase process management;
- demand forecasts;
- determination of stock levels and procurement plans;
- production planning;
- technical assistance and complaint management.

I hope that suppliers and customers alike will take full advantage of the enormous potential of ECCO, a facility destined to set new standards in the machine tool industry.
