(PRWEB) September 21, 2002 -- WOMENS REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS ASSISTANCE PROJECT (WRRAP) is proud to annouce COMICS CHOICE 11, the organizations largest and most popular fundraiser of the year, will be hosted by ELAYNE BOOSLER on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2002 at the (Los Angeles) Friars Club. WRRAP raises money for low-income women of all ages, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds who are unable to pay for emergency contraception or a safe, legal abortion. Their services are provided free-of-charge to state-of-the-art clinics across the country. WRRAP, the only fund that consistently subsidizes women on a national basis, is a member of the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) and is endorsed bsy Planned Parenthood L.A. Ninety-five percent of the evenings proceeds from Comics Choice 11 go directly to WRRAP.
In 2001, WRRAP helped poor women in 48 states, plus the District of Columbia, exercise their reproductive freedom. While most women needed help as the result of failed birth control, some were rape victims, others victims of incest, and some victims had full-blown AIDS. While each woman has a different story to tell, they all share the commonality, that without WRRAPs assistance, they would have no other saftey net.
