Pulte Homes Ranks Highest in Customer Satisfaction in Charlotte, Houston, Las Vegas, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Phoenix, San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California Markets
Pulte Homes, the nation's largest homebuilder, tops customer satisfaction ranking in seven of the largest U.S. markets in the 2002 J.D. Power & Associates Study. Pulte ranked in the top three in 12 of the 16 markets studied.
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., September 17, 2002 -
Pulte Homes, Inc. (NYSE: PHM) announced today that its divisions in Charlotte, Houston, Las Vegas, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Phoenix, San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California rank highest in their respective markets in customer satisfaction in the J.D. Power and Associates 2002 New Home Builder Customer Satisfaction StudySM.
The study in 16 of the largest homebuilding markets in the United States noted customer service and home readiness as the two factors that most heavily influenced the customers overall level of satisfaction.
In addition to ranking highest in seven markets, Pulte Homes and its Del Webb communities rank among the Top Three homebuilder in 12 of the 16 markets surveyed.
- Ranked highest in Charlotte, Houston, Las Vegas, Minneapolis/St. Paul, San Francisco Bay Area, Phoenix (tied), and Southern California (Del Webb tied).
- Ranked second in Atlanta, Chicago (Del Webb), Denver/Colorado Springs, Las Vegas (Del Webb), and Phoenix (Del Webb).
- Rank third in Chicago, Dallas and Tampa Bay.
Pulte Homes in Las Vegas captured the highest customer satisfaction ranking of any builder surveyed in the 16 markets with a final score of 139. Coming the closest to that score was the tie between Pulte Homes and Blandford Homes in the Phoenix market. There, the two builders tied with a score of 133.

Pulte Homes and Del Webb communities also ranked above average in the other four markets surveyed, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, and Washington D.C.
Along with customer service and home readiness, the factors that drive overall customer satisfaction include the sales staff, quality of workmanship/materials, price/value considerations, physical design elements, the builders design center, neighborhood recreational facilities and location.
