Wawa Kimberlite Dyke Samples Return Diamonds
Geodex Minerals Ltd. (the 'Company) announces the results of recent sampling of kimberlite dykes found on their Fletch and Machineimegos properties located near Wawa Ontario. The contiguous properties comprise 217 claim units for a total of 8,800 acres.
Five samples, averaging 6.8 kg each, were collected from four dykes. The samples were sent to Kennecotts laboratory in Thunder Bay for caustic fusion processing and microdiamond recovery.
Samples from two of the dykes each contained one microdiamond. The Fletch North" dyke is 3.2m wide and contains abundant mantle xenoliths. The No. 2" dyke, located about 3 kilometres east of the Fletch dyke, is 2.0 metres wide and does not contain obvious mantle xenoliths. Sample weights were 7.8 kg and 5.3 kg respectively, and both the recovered diamonds are described as transparent.
Geodex is encouraged that the limited sampling to-date has shown that diamondiferous kimberlites occur on the Fletch-Matchineimegos property. Future exploration will include work to trace the extent of the diamondiferous dykes as well as efforts to discover additional kimberlites on the property.
ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
