Alexandria, VA ● The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) awarded Defense Group Inc. (DGI), a 5 year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to outfit nationally accredited bomb squads throughout the United States with Bomb Scene Response Reporting Kits." The initial procurement under this contract is $14 million.
Defense Group Inc.s Chemical Biological Response Aide (CoBRA) Response Kits will be fielded to bomb squads nationwide. These kits include the ultra-rugged Itronix® GoBookMAX laptop computer, an Olympus digital camera, a Garmin GPS Receiver with mapping software, a Pentax compact scanner, and a Pelican compact hard case.
During a hazardous incident, a multitude of information can be accessed with incredible speed from the GoBookMAX laptop, which can be decontaminated by running it through a dishwasher. Using the CoBRA software tools, law enforcement agents are able to identify the elements of the hazard or threat.
They may then develop an approved response measure by accessing data on effects, protective gear and response measures from Response Information Data Sheets (RIDS) on more than 60,000 chemical names and Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) contained within the software package.
The CoBRA incident report tool allows incident commanders and on-scene law enforcement agents the ability to include digital imagery, checklists in progress and completed standardized incident report forms.
