Intel unveiled as headline sponsor of worlds wireless showcase; Motorola sponsors the Applications & Services categories
London, 20 September 2002: The GSM Association today publicly revealed its 2003 Awards programme and officially called for entries. Now in their eighth year, the GSM Association Awards are well established as the global showcase for the worlds wireless industry and the most prestigious wireless awards in the telecommunications industry calendar. The deadline for Awards entries is 29th November 2002.
The GSM Association also today unveiled Intel as the headline sponsor for the GSM Awards 2003. Motorola sponsors the Applications & Services categories.
The 2002 programme was a major success and helped many highly innovative network operators, manufacturers and suppliers showcase their products and services to the world," commented Jim Pratt, Chairman of the GSM Association. We know that being nominated for or winning an Award can have a real and instant impact on the success of an organisation - so theres a lot riding on the results," continued Jim.
We have high hopes for the 2003 Awards," said Rob Conway, CEO of the GSM Association. Every year the programme has gone from strength to strength - both in terms of numbers of entries and quality. We are confident that this year will be no exception."
With so much positive marketing noise at the wireless industrys global gathering in Cannes - heres a perfect opportunity to rise above the crowd and get your service or product noticed," added Conway.
Aiming to recognise excellence and innovation, the 2003 Awards programme retains the focus on application services and technical innovation that previous Awards have established.
There is also a new Award for 2003 - the Mobile Communications International (MCI) Readers Award - which is exclusively voted on by readers of the magazine and is designed to recognise the company that readers of MCI feel has achieved the most or performed the best in the industry during 2002.
