Independent filmmaker, Marc Anthony Massimei, has assembled a cast of students, friends, and others he has met along his creative journey who have committed much of their free time (without compensation) to assist in his vision. The Shape of Evil was produced on a budget of $375 (including equipment $3,500), yet incorporates many of the cinematic elements and techniques one would expect in a quality feature film with a professional budget.

In his award-winning film, The Shape of Evil, Marc takes on virtually all aspects of the creative process. This includes participating as the film's writer, director, editor, producer, cinematographer, sound designer and camera operator as well as performing other duties. He has also created the website as well as all logos and picture art associated with it. From the outset, one of Marc's goals was to rely solely on artistic ability rather than the morally questionable techniques often used by filmmakers to attract a larger audience.

His goal? To determine the extent of his creative abilities, to assimilate a greater knowledge and expertise as a filmmaker, and to share his passion with others.

Marc is currently in New York where his student/independent film was accepted into the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival (NYIIFV). SOE it will be making its east coast premiere at 4:00 P.M. on September 25th. The NYIIFV Festival is ranked among the A list of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. Among them are the Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival, which Marc now has access to, courtesy of his acceptance into the NYIIFV Festival.

On July 31st 2002, Marc Anthony Massimei, attended the Los Angeles DVD Festival where he received two Gold Ring Awards including Best Sound Mix & Best Original Score (Music).
