Whereonearth, in partnership with Telcontar to supply Location Based Services platform and associated services to Hutchison 3G

London - 18 September 2002 - Whereonearth, the provider of a leading Location Based Service (LBS) platform and Telcontar, provider of premier LBS server technology, today announced the signing of an agreement to supply LBS software and professional services to Hutchison 3G UK Limited (Hutchison 3G). The software will initially be deployed by Hutchison 3G UK and then made available in all countries where Hutchison Whampoa has 3G licences.

The software will initially be deployed by Hutchison 3G UK and then made available in all countries where Hutchison Whampoa has 3G licences.

Whereonearth & Telcontar are collaborating to supply core technology, vital data and functionality for Hutchison 3G's Location Based services. Whereonearth also has a team of Professional Service staff engaged at Hutchison 3G's offices in Maidenhead to customise the software and integrate it into their network architecture and associated business support systems.

Hutchison 3G selected the Whereonearth & Telcontar consortium following a tendering process and detailed comparison with a number of other leading LBS vendors. The selection was made based on the consortia's innovative and flexible approach, coupled with the performance capabilities of the software offered to Hutchison 3G.
