Nashville Veterans Affairs Medical Center Selects Dawning Technologies, Inc
Company to Provide Interface Solutions for Critical Connections
Fairport, New York and Nashville, Tennessee September 23, 2002 --- Dawning Technologies announces the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System at the Nashville, Tennessee campus has selected its Secure Network Interface (SNI) and ResultNet/Plus® System to handle their critical instrument connections. Dawning solutions will provide a secure IP enterprise solution for a variety of lab equipment at multiple locations. Dawning now provides connectivity and interface solutions for 5 different VA campuses throughout Tennessee utilizing 38 SNI devices.
Based upon our success with Dawning interface solutions at our Murfreesboro Campus they were the hands down winner over our previous vendor, Data Innovations, said Linda Alsup Computer Specialist for the VA TVHCS at the Murfreesboro campus. We needed a solution that would allow us to connect all 16 devices Nashville was using to the mainframe, plus an additional 3 devices at our Knoxville outpatient clinic. Their previous vendor could not accommodate our request but the folks at Dawning had a solution that was ready to go right out of the box."
We pride ourselves on providing our clients with the best interface technology available through an aggressive research and development program", said John Selmyer, President of Dawning. We continue to look for ways in which we can use the latest technology to provide our customers with Smart Connections, which add value to their existing network infrastructure. When a large client such as this selects our solution which replaces another vendor, it provides validation that we are on the right track."
The SNI allows any lab professional to quickly and easily connect a clinical analyzer to their TCP/IP network, eliminating the need for additional hardware such as terminal servers or PCs.
The SNI is based upon an open architecture and provides users with complete access to all operating parameters. ResultNet/Plus is a Clinical Router Application, which eliminates the complexity associated with transmitting result data from large scale or multi-site laboratories by providing a central location for all interface connections.
The SNI and ResultNet/Plus combination provides us with a powerful solution by which to manage result data from instruments which can sometimes be responsible for tests that provide life or death answers for our doctors", said John Smith, Network Specialist. The ease of the installation and the level of expertise shown by the crew at Dawning make it easy for me to recommend their solutions to other lab professionals."
