Guardian Angel
A Political Suspense Thriller

By Jim Chriss

Guardian Angel pits Mike Kostanski, an honest Secret Service agent, against the power of both the White House and a corrupt and cold-blooded major corporation. Mike faces an ethical dilemma, forcing him to choose between his avowed dedication to protect the President and his need to tell the truth.

"I would die for him, should I lie for him?"

Mike Kostanski, the "afternoon man" outside the Oval Office is a dedicated Secret Service agent called to testify before the Grand Jury about women who visited the President. Kostanski reluctantly opts to tell the truth-but false logbooks doctored by White House operatives- convince the Grand Jury that he lied, leading to his perjury conviction. The President's connections get Kostanski a job as a security agent for the Grantland Corporation, but his ethical problems only get worse. Grantland is involved in a host of illegal activities including accounting discrepancies, tax evasion, weapons transfer to foreign powers, treason and murder.

Kostanski is in possession of evidence that could bring down the President, but Grantland executives must keep Mike from talking if they are to continue using the White House to enable their illegal and very profitable activities. Kidnap, frame-ups, and several murders later, the President and the Grantland Corporation battle Kostanski in a bitter struggle for survival. A unique sting operation, powerful action and surprising twists and turns throughout lead to a heart-pounding climax.
