Seymour Community Services Society

September 17, 2002, Vancouver, British Columbia - eBusiness Applications, an Internet application software developer, today announced that it has deployed their newly designed web content management software, SpeedSiteŠ, for the Seymour Community Services Society, a North Shore based non-profit organization responsible for the management and delivery of programs and services at the Parkgate Community Centre ( www.myparkgate.com )

The Society awarded the primary development contract to eBusiness Applications, in part, because of the unique administrative toolset called SpeedSite. Due to it's simple design and user-friendly interface, non-technical people are empowered to become website designers. This ability will significantly reduce the time to make changes to the website, and will save the organization money that would otherwise be spent on expensive site updates.

The user friendly and time saving features of SpeedSite make it an ideal solution for Community groups and Municipal bodies such as the Seymour Community Services Society. SpeedSite features such as the Navigation manager and template builder mean that there is no need for technical people to carry out the previously difficult tasks of building content templates and managing site wide navigation. SpeedSite makes the Society's web presence more agile affording a method to quickly respond to the information needs of the Community.

"The design, development and recent deployment of our website has been an exciting challenge", said Ron Boucher, the Society's Launch Coordinator, Web Services. "The SpeedSite administrative toolset is an important element in the development of a fully functional, interactive community-based website serving all program and service participants at the Parkgate Community Centre". Boucher also indicated that the Society was now in the early planning stages of Phase 2 of its Web Services Plan which would provide important personalization features for all Parkgate website users.

To address the communication issues associated with publishing constantly changing program information, "it made sense to extract Parkgate specific program information from their existing database and publish it online so it would be readily accessible to the Community", said Andre Charland, President of eBusiness Applications. "Program information is updated automatically when staff makes changes to program schedules. Using the latest industry standard technologies such as Web Services, XML and XSLT eBusiness Applications provides a web initiative that will be able to grow with the Society's technology needs".
