FITNESS GURU, RICHARD SIMMONS - UPSTAGES MARYLAND CRAB CAKES!
On September 28th and 29th, Baltimore Convention Center opens its doors to the first absolutely free, Healthy Living Choices Expo". On Sunday, at 1-PM, the convention center will be grooving to the oldies music, as Richard Simmons leads his famous Sweating to the Oldies" work- out from 1-3PM. Also cooking up a storm will be Baltimores own, Mark Laubner, chef of Philips Restaurant known for their famous Maryland crab cakes. So, while Mark is sweating over his griddle, dreaming up crab cake recopies for the folks, Richard will be upstaging Marks famous crab cakes, with is vintage Sweating to the Oldies" routine. Its free and open to the public daily Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28th and 29th, 2002.
On September 28th, and 29th, the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation will sponsor the first Healthy Living Choices Expo." The Expo, which offers free screening for diabetes, including eye screening, screening for feet, and monograms, boasts of 60 exhibitors and exercise classes each and every hour on both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, September 29th fitness guru Richard Simmons brings his famous Sweating to the Oldies" work out to the main stage. The public is invited to participate and encouraged to wear comfortable clothes. Simmons work out begins at 1PM until 2PM, and then there will be an hour of autograph signing and photo opportunities, with Simmons. For those needing a cool drink, Poland Spring Water, is setting up a booth, with gallons of cold water, and serve yourself paper cups.On Saturday, Orioles pitcher Jason Johnson joins the diabetes team, between 11 and 1PM. Baltimores own fitness expert, Donnacize, will be on the main stage, Saturday. The event is sponsored by the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation, a non profit foundation, based in Washington DC.Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation, D.R.W.F., is sponsoring the Healthy Living Choices Expo.
