Murchison & Cumming's Las Vegas Office Adopts Its Firm Name

Nevada Supreme Court Ruling 199 has been amended to allow out of state law firms with offices in Nevada to practice under their previously established name. Carraway & Ryan, an affiliate of Murchison & Cumming will be changing their name to Murchison & Cumming on September 29, in accordance with the new ruling.

Las Vegas, NV -- September 27, 2002 -- Las Vegas Carraway & Ryan, an affiliate of Murchison & Cumming established in 2000, will be changing its name this week to Murchison & Cumming in accordance with the amended Nevada Supreme Court Ruling 199.

Previously under SCR 199, law firms within Nevada were only permitted to practice under the name of a licensed Nevada attorney or that of a deceased or retired Nevada attorney. The amended ruling, which goes into effect on September 29, 2002 allows multi-state law firms to practice in Nevada under their established firm names.

James D. Carraway will continue as the Partner-in-Charge of Murchison & Cummings Las Vegas office and all contact information will remain the same. Mr. Carraway and the attorneys resident in Las Vegas will continue to focus their practice in the areas of trucking and transportation liability, products liability, construction defect - subcontractors defense, personal injury defense, general liability, medical malpractice, energy law, long-term care facilities and elder abuse, utility litigation and property and insurance law.
