Leading Swiss Medical Technology Supplier Xiril launches its XML content managed website.
on-IDLE re-designed Xirils website, implementing a simple to use XML-based content management system, providing effective communication within its B2B target audience.
----Begins----
http://www.xiril.com">Xiril AG has successfully re-launched its website driven by a XML-based content management system [CMS], developed by London-based web technology and design solutions provider http://www.on-IDLE.com">on-IDLE. Xiril AG the Swiss high-quality supplier of robotic liquid handling equipment to major laboratory and hospital groups worldwide, has had the simple to use CMS to ensure effective global communications.
Xiril specialises in supplying robotic liquid handling systems and equipment in small to medium-volume workloads for biochemistry, molecular biology, diagnostics and laboratory applications requiring pipetting. (Blood and tissue sample testing and analysis to the uninitiated.)
The re-design focuses on new product offerings, the high-quality service and equipment standards of Xiril whilst prompting users to interact on more levels with the company through in-depth information sheets, product specifications and videos. This development was built on http://www.on-IDLE.com">on-IDLE's fully browser-based scaleable XML content management system (o-iCORE©) for specific use by low-end technical individuals, but highly skilled professionals within a company. The development and implementation took four weeks from base design to online implementation due to the revolutionary technology framework on-IDLE works with. The website went live in the first week of September, and is being supported by events participation and print promotion to European and US targeted organisations.
Heinz Abplanalp of Xiril contracted http://www.on-IDLE.com">on-IDLE for this project to solve a problem. With a hectic travel schedule and quick turn-around on market changes there is no time to contract an agency every time the site needs an adjustment, news or additional information – particularly on such a unique product offering. With the customised content management system, Xiril does not need to employ additional web editors and highly-skilled designers and/or web programmers to keep the site fresh and in tune with customer needs.
The content management tool also contains a communication notification system, ensuring that Xiril never misses a customer contact or query, and are able to respond immediately with the relevant marketing material uploaded in the online asset repository. The Information Centre also contains material specifically tailored for use by journalists and Xiril affiliates such as print quality image downloads.
Christiaan Abplanalp, Xirils in-house graphic designer comments: It is quite exciting how quick and easy it is to update the website in real-time. The system also gives me the flexibility to add entire new content sections and navigation as the business evolves e.g. launching a new product range. The templates also contain the functionality which means I dont even have to code or test it – I just click ‘update and it goes live!".
http://www.on-IDLE.com">on-IDLE has given Xiril the ability to communicate with, rather than to its website users – internally and externally to the organisation. Ané-Mari du Toit, Sales & Marketing Director at http://www.on-IDLE.com">on-IDLE, comments: My favourite section of the site is Location – site visitors (virtually and physically) can not only find beautifully executed road maps, but even download the latest rail timetables, or look at the available accommodation in the area."
du Toit adds This was an interesting project for us because of what Xiril is about – high involvement products for a very specialised audience within a highly competitive marketplace. Its a challenge to communicate the complex product benefits whilst encouraging prospective customers to not only contact Xiril, but also to browse for more information. The design exudes simplicity and quality without being reminiscent of the expected ‘clinical coldness when trying to communicate advanced technology and scientific values."
