SCARE 2002 - In the Heart of Des Moines
Des Moines, WA--August 13, 2002-- Scare Productions, a non-profit volunteer-run production group, celebrates it's fifteenth season in the Heart of Des Moines. The Scare House will open on Wednesday, October 9th for it's annual Press Night preview for local and national media representatives. Scare officially kicks the season off on Friday, October 11th, with proceeds to benefit their long-time partner, the Des Moines Rotary Club.
PumpkinFest, Scare's celebration of the pumpkins' association with all things Halloween, will kick off officially on Saturday, October 12th with the return of the Great Pumpkin Massacre, Part I. PumpkinFest features a weigh-off of giant pumpkins cultivated by members of the Pacific North West Giant Pumpkins Growers Association, as well as pumpkin carving contests and pumpkin painting for children.
The Scare House will be open Tuesday through Sunday till October 31st, with Monday the 28th being added especially to commemorate the week of Halloween. Hours are weekdays, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm , and Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 pm to midnight.
The Scare house is located in Des Moines off of Marine View Drive and 223rd, three miles west of I-5 via Kent-Des Moines road west. Admission is $7.00, with $2.00 coupons offered at Puget Sound Bartell Drug locations. Free parking is available in the Des Moines Marina.
