magic4 discusses EMS and its Migratory Role to MMS at UMTS Mobile Internet 2002
Stand D. 72, magic4 will be demonstrating its suite of messaging products including MMS, Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) and SyncML, 2 - 4 October 2002, UMTS Mobile Internet, The CNIT, Paris, France
London, 30 September, 2002 - Simon Wilkinson, CEO of magic4, the mobile messaging solutions specialist, will be speaking at the M Services conference on 2 October at the CNIT, Paris. Simon will address the potential market opportunity for EMS, the applications the technology allows, and the evolution to MMS. magic4 will also demonstrate the latest innovations from its suite of messaging clients - including its Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) solutions and its new client, SyncML.
Simon Wilkinson commented, "The most immediate driver of new revenues is the introduction of Enhanced Messaging Services and Instant Messaging with both technologies destined to create extensive user interest and, as a consequence, higher revenues. We have recently seen the launch of Sagem's EMS enabled colour phone and before the end of the year there will be over 20 EMS enabled handsets on the market. The journey has begun with EMS. It will pave the way for the mass market adoption of MMS and 3G messaging in the future."
Simon Wilkinson continued: "Recent live demonstrations of our MIM client have caused a stir. Mobile Instant Messaging is a particularly exciting development from magic4 and allows presence-enabled communication, using IP and Internet standards, identical to that currently enjoyed on the PC. Messages can be sent to either phones, PDA's or PCs and will dramatically extend the mobile experience and individual accessibility. MIM has huge market potential and magic4 is participating in initiatives such as The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) in order to define and promote a set of universal specifications for mobile instant messaging and presence services."
Also at the show, magic4 will be giving delegates an exclusive look at its soon to be launched client SyncML, a generic synchronisation client using SynML open standards. Users will be able to synchronise the calendar and address book of their mobile phone or PDA to their PC simply and quickly.
magic4 will be based at stand D. 72 at UMTS Mobile Internet.
