Not In Our Name

This coming weekend and in weeks to follow, Americans in West Los Angeles and throughout many cities in the country will be gathering to send a message to Washington, DC. To proclaim the notion Not In Our Name".

The message is we the people are sick and tired of USA National- International militarism. In the name of democracy; we, Americans have been killing millions of people all over the world including our American people since our inception. Starting with the indigenous Native Tribes, the imported African slaves and now the inforced poverty of today on inner city blacks and Hispanics. Our Government has been responsible for more death and suffering though-out the world than even Hitler or Stalin.

In the name of keeping the peace and protecting the world from mad men
or evil doers"; our government intends to invade yet another county that the corporate media has deemed evil". 1st of all, where in the US constitution does it give us the right or the power to invade foreign lands i.e.; Panama, Nicaragua, Iraq, Iran, Vietnam? Whatever the country, do we have the right to be the protector? What, Who gave us the right in the name of democracy to be the World Police?

Who truly believes we are as stupid as our government thinks you are? Stand up right now, stop reading and go to your telephone, call somebody. Hey hello this is me average dumb American, You know me, I go to work everyday, feed my children, pay the mortgage, pay my taxes and mind my own business, yes Im just as primitive as you. Thats what they" want me to believe. But you know what, to hell with that. Truth is if we dont clean up this act and change the direction this county is going, my kids wont go to that college I have been saving for, there wont be any college for them to go to.

It is a popular belief today both in the main stream and just left of center; That if we dont some how manage to change our thinking, our policies and our actions towards humanity, and take care of the planet. We all of us wes may not be around much longer to have this game to play or parks to pick-nick in.

A Zen master and teacher named Thich Nhat Hanh has written, spoke and preached on the importance of Love and the ending of suffering for all of humanity. He writes that we are indeed responsible for one anothers well being and happiness.
Never has there been a more opportune time to meditate on and pray for our very survival and quality of existence, for all and for one.

Many years ago in the 1960s R.Buckminster Fuller declared there is enough
Wealth on this planet for each and every person to live in complete financial independence. He referred to redistribution of the wealth so that we could all live in paradise, living a life of freedom, creativity and all people should have the basic rights to shelter, and good clean safe food and water. And be free from corporate greed, government control, treat, famine, man made disease, nuclear bombs and legalized plunder. These are our God given rights folks, though non- violent non co-optation we can have them, we can fly BELIEVE IT.
And we can have peace and freedom, believe it, know it, share it and may the creator bless and keep us all. God bless America and all Nations.
