Investigen Closes Series A Funding Round to Fuel Delivery of New DNA Test Solutions

Investigen, leader in multi-platform DNA testing, has closed its Series A funding and released CommodityCheck, the market's first PCR-based GMO detection kit providing fast, cost-effective testing.

ALAMEDA, Calif.--Sept. 23, 2002--Investigen, Inc., technology leaders in multi-platform DNA testing, today announced that the company has closed its Series A funding round for an undisclosed amount.

The monies raised through the Series A funding round will be applied to introduce groundbreaking technologies in diagnostic tests for the food, water, healthcare, environmental and bio-defense industries. Investigen recently released CommodityCheck(TM), the market's first PCR-based (polymerase chain reaction) GMO detection kit capable of providing fast, easy, cost-effective testing for genetic anomalies in soy, corn, potatoes, and other food stuffs.

Investigen is expected to release microbiology custom kits for two Fortune 100 companies in the next six months. In the next twelve months Investigen plans to introduce ground-breaking assays for the food and water safety industries.
