His family exudes art. His cousin, Count Phillippe de Montebello, has been the director of New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art, since 1978.

Jean de Montebello is renowned for both his style and clientele who include princes, corporate chairmen, academics and clerics.

Using charcoal, conte and red chalk pencils, Jean emphasizes the strength of the visual expression of the original image supplied by the individual. This is particularly critical in the portraiture of childrens faces.

His portraits will prove a family heirloom to be treasured through the generations.

He is a graduate from the prestigious Academie Charpentier in Paris after earlier studies at Palais Gallien, Bordeaux, France and MJM, Toulouse, France.
