Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA) to Host Third International Mobile Satellite Users Conference and Exhibition
MSUA-3 to provide the annual state of the industry" forum for mobile satellite users, suppliers and service providers; keynote address

McLean, VA, U.S.A., October 7, 2002 -- The Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA) has announced that it will host its third annual international Mobile Satellite Users Conference and Exhibition, MSUA-3," in Arlington, Virginia on December 10-11, 2002.
The events of September 11, 2001 and the ensuing global efforts to contain terrorism demonstrated the utility of mobile satellite services obtained from a variety of suppliers," said MSUA President Dr. Ahmad Ghais in announcing the conference. MSUA-3 is the one conference and exhibition in which manufacturers, distributors, users and potential users can truly assess how far the industry has advanced over the last year -- and where its headed."
MSUA-3 will feature panelists and speakers, leaders from key areas of the mobile satellite industry, who will focus on critical issues in the industry.
Practical information will be presented on the capabilities of current and future mobile voice, data and multimedia services. For example, in one session a group of some of the most prominent MSS providers will examine, from the users viewpoint, the MSS telephony services options from which you may choose, including global geostationary (GEO) systems, regional (Super GEO) systems, and global low earth orbit (LEO) systems. In other sessions, some of the industrys key decision makers will discuss such topics as Is broadband-via-satellite really the wave of the future?" and What roles can MSS play in homeland security in countries around the world?" Another of the conferences seven distinct sessions will review current aeronautical mobile applications as well as new applications, such as Internet connectivity and full-motion video, that may be accommodated in the near future. In addition, system operators, user terminal and handset manufacturers, and major distributors will be on hand to exhibit the many broadcast and Internet-related applications which are driving the growth in mobile satellite communications markets.
The MSUA-3 conference, which will be preceded by an Inmarsat Mobile Services Workshop on December 9, will be held December 10-11, 2002 at the Sheraton Crystal City located at 1800 Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington, Virginia.
