WordToWeb 2.5 Automates the Conversion of Complex Documents to HTML

Solutionsoft has released WordToWeb 2.5--a new version of its popular MS-Word-based HTML conversion software. WordToWeb automates the conversion of long, complex Word documents to complete HTML publications.

SUNNYVALE, CA--October 9, 2002--Solutionsoft today announced that it is shipping WordToWeb 2.5, a major upgrade to its Microsoft® Word-based HTML conversion tool.

Unlike the "Save As HTML" feature built into Microsoft Word, WordToWeb 2.0 completely automates the entire document conversion process--potentially eliminating hours of error-prone HTML editing and formatting.

When a user converts a long document, such as a manual, into HTML format with Microsoft Word's "Save As" command, the result is a single--and very long--HTML file. The user is then left with the task of breaking this long file into smaller HTML pages, linking them together, adding navigation features, and creating an HTML table of contents and index. If the publication is to be posted on the organization's website, the user will likely also need to format each HTML page with the proper layout and style.

WordToWeb 2.5 automates these tasks: converting multiple Word documents to HTML and breaking long source documents into a series of linked HTML pages. In addition, WordToWeb creates an online table of contents and index and will handle cross-references, footnotes, navigation links, page layout/formatting and many other details.

WordToWeb Version 2.5 includes a number of important new features, including support for Microsoft Word XP (2002) and the ability to automatically add a dynamic, collapsible table of contents implemented using DHTML to online publications.

WordToWeb's intuitive wizard interface makes it easy for any Microsoft Word user to produce sophisticated HTML publications, while still offering a high degree of flexibility and control over the conversion process. Once the parameters for an HTML publication have been set, the source documents can be re-converted at any time with a click of the mouse--making it easy to keep online information up-to-date even when the source documents frequently change.

WordToWeb has been one of the leading HTML conversion solutions since its introduction. The product is popular in the IT and documentation departments of both large and small organizations. A few representative customers of WordToWeb include AT&T, IBM, Intel, Ford Motor Company, EDS, Warner Brothers and the United States Federal Reserve Bank.

Solutionsoft, founded in 1993, is a privately held company based in Sunnyvale, CA, which is focused on developing tools for Windows developers, webmasters and technical writers. Solutionsoft's other products include HelpBreeze®, one of the leading Windows help authoring tools, and Perl Builder, the first integrated development environment for the Perl programming language.
