n.able (nable-IT Ltd.), a UK based information technology services company, today announced signing of a reseller agreement with Altiris Inc. (Nasdaq: ATRS), a leader in systems management solutions that reduce the total cost of owning information technology. n.able will re-sell the Altiris® Client Recovery Solution. The product protects an organizations electronic data on desktops and laptops from user error, virus attacks and hardware failures.

n.able will focus on selling the PC and mobile computer backup and recovery technology to small and medium sized businesses (SMB).

The n.able team has more than three years experience with this product, having used the software while working at HP as the core to the HP autobackup client backup and recovery server appliance," said John Palmer, n.able managing director. Small and medium sized businesses own the second largest number of PCs, second only to home PCs, and only a very small percentage of these are protected with a solution that is reliable and easy to use. While large corporate IT suppliers concentrate on solutions for enterprises with many thousands of PCs, we will focus on provision of the same high quality solution and service to SMB users."

While at HP I managed a team that was very successful in providing the HP autobackup solution for 100 user workgroups," continued Palmer. Now that this product is discontinued n.able is pleased to offer users of the system an upgrade path suited to their needs."

Client Recovery Solution swiftly returns an inoperable desktop or notebook computer to working condition with minimal effort. Scheduled snapshots of the system hard disk are captured, compressed and stored in a network repository. Forced backups are also critical when performing operating system migrations or pushing software patches. Specific computers can be automatically and transparently rolled back to a previous state while preserving all of the file data in addition to a user's unique settings.

Client Recovery Solution achieves very efficient compression ratios, minimizes network loads and provides scalability to thousands of users per repository by offering three-levels of patented data minimization:

•   Redundant File Elimination –Filter out existing files already saved to the Client Recovery Solution repository.
•   Redundant Block Elimination – Reduce file size by transmitting and storing only the file changes that are different from the previous snapshot.
•   HLZS Data Compression - Industry standard for reliable data compression.

Future releases of Client Recovery Solution will also provide new functionality through cross-functional integration with other Altiris solutions such as Deployment Solution, Carbon Copy® Solution, PC Transplant® Solution, Helpdesk Solution and SW Delivery Solution.

We are very pleased to have found in n.able a partner with considerable experience with backup and recovery technology," said Nick Shaw, Altiris regional manager. The Altiris Client Recovery Solution has been an important recent addition to our systems management solutions portfolio. Together with the n.able team, we will be able to provide a winning high quality service to our customers."
