Beatware to Deliver Enhanced Dynamic Web Imaging for Microsoft Content Management Server 2002

Redwood City, CA, October 8, 2002 — Beatware Incorporated, producer of Live Assets, today announced a strategic relationship with Microsoft Corp. to provide enhanced dynamic imaging capabilities for Microsoft Content Management Server 2002. This new integration between Live Assets and Content Management Server 2002 unifies dynamic content management and dynamic image management.

Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 is an enterprise Web content management system that enables businesses to quickly and easily deploy dynamic and personalized intranet, extranet and internet Web sites. By empowering employees with the comprehensive applications they need to be able to manage their own content, enterprises benefit through increased productivity, stronger customer and partner relationships, improved internal communication and increased revenue.

By integrating Beatware Live Assets with Microsoft Content Management Server 2002, knowledge workers (i.e. sales and marketing personnel) are empowered to change parts of existing web graphics and generate completely new images without directly accessing original graphics or using a graphics application. Embedded text can be reworded and fonts changed, color schemes can be modified, and entire graphics can be reformatted and resized by those people responsible for keeping content up to date, knowledge workers. Previously, one image could be swapped for another in the repository, but on the fly customizations required the specialized skills of a graphic artist.

For example, authorized marketing personnel can use Content Management Server 2002 and Live Assets to tailor banner messages and generate entirely new animations in real time to reflect current market trends or a changing competitive landscape. Likewise, international subsidiaries can use Live Assets to directly localize newly produced graphics without going through the timely process of having those graphics translated and recreated by specially trained artists. In both cases, the result is the same. The web site visitor has a superior online experience because both the text and the graphics are always in synch and relevant.

Beatware has provided a strong solution with Live Assets that will enable customers to easily deploy enhanced Web-imaging capabilities with Content Management Server 2002," said Eric Swift, group product manager for .NET Enterprise Servers at Microsoft Corp. Beatware and Microsoft have the same vision when it comes to content management: Enable customers to get Web content online as quickly and easily as possible. With the combination of Content Management Server 2002 and Live Asset, customers can do just that."

Live Assets makes it possible to update web graphics as instantaneously as other web content," said Marc Verstaen, President and CEO of Beatware. Content management solutions provide superior update and management control over most web content, but graphics updates often require intervention by a graphic artist. As a consequence, graphics remain relatively static. With the combination of Live Assets and Microsoft Content Management Server 2002, virtually all web content can be updated and maintained through any web browser, saving businesses time and money, and providing customers with an enhanced web experience."
