Fibrenetix launches 16 Terabyte Fibre Channel Storage solution
Fibrenetix, the recognised European market leader in high-performance,
cost-effective IDE RAID solutions, has announced the introduction of the
Atlantis AT-1400 Fibre Channel series of products to meet high availability,
capacity, performance and scalability storage requirements.

staggering capacity of up to three Terabytes of storage capacity per
enclosure in our IDE range of RAID products, Fibrenetix has encountered
demand from a number of blue-chip and enterprise customers who require an
even greater level of availability, performance and scalability. In response
to this demand, we have introduced a number of high-end features to our
product range which can now provide up to sixteen Terabytes of storage
capacity."
The AT-1400 series offers Fibre Channel RAID or JBOD (Just a Bunch of
Drives) storage solutions, making it an ideal component for use in any
SAN-based or Server-attached mass storage environment. Optional Dual
Active/Active RAID controllers provide the highest levels of availability
and ensure minimum downtime. For Clustering or SAN applications, the AT-1400
features Multiple host and Host LUN support.
The AT-1400 JBOD is based around a superior quality, fault-tolerant, Fibre
Channel disk enclosure featuring 14x drive caddies. Combined with the 1u
controller box, featuring single or dual loop Fibre Channel, the AT-1400 is
a high-end, mass storage device. The products scalable design enables up to
seven AT-1400 JBODs, supporting up to 112x Hot Swap drives, to be cascaded
in a single-loop offering a massive 16 Terabytes of high availability
storage (using 146GB drives).
To maximise reliability and system up-time, all critical components are hot
swappable, including PSUs, fans and RAID controllers. Other components,
including the bypass module and the SES environment module are
cool-swappable, ensuring high availability and ease of maintenance.
Certified by most Fibre Channel Switch and HBA manufacturers, the AT-1400
supports RAID levels 0, 0+1, 3 and 5. Its cableless design offers superior
reliability and performance and a versatile monitoring system, alerts
administrators to any system irregularities.
Fibrenetix plans to announce further Enterprise products during Q4-2002."
