Despite Declining Economy Global Plastics Inc. Grows, Moves To New Location
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Oct. 10, 2002 - In the face of an economy that has caused many businesses to close their doors, 10-year-old custom injection molder, Global Plastics Inc., has seen a 30 percent growth in business in the past 12 months and has outgrown its current facility.
President J.R. Spitznogle said his goals of improving plant layout and efficiency while allowing for expansion of existing and new customers can best be achieved through the new location at 6739 Guion Road in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Global, which specializes in custom design, manufacture and assembly of high-quality plastic products, is moving from its current 18,000-square-foot office to a 40,000-square-foot building in mid-October.
Of the 40,000 square feet, over 50 percent will be dedicated to molding and assembly; mold building and CNC equipment will occupy 25 percent; and warehousing and offices will occupy the remaining space.
The new facility will house 8 presses, each with clamping forces of 40 to 320 tons, with room to expand to more and larger presses in the future.

Spitznogle, who credits the steady growth of the privately held firm to its 50 employees, is investing $1.5 million in the new building.
"Weve been able to grow because of the hard work and dedication of our employees," Spitznogle said. "We always strive to exceed expectations and come in on schedule...you can't do that without a committed team of people."
Spitznogles goal is to make his clients ¾ including companies that specialize in medical, automotive, industrial, electronics, packaging and consumer products ¾ feel like Global is simply an extension of their own company.
Our clients can work with us from start to finish without ever having to subcontract with other companies," he said.
J.R. Spitznogle and his cousin Jim Spitznogle founded Global Plastics Inc. in 1992 as a two-man operation. In the past 10 years, the firm has grown to include product design and engineering, mold making, injection molding and value-added assembly. For more information, visit www.globalplastics.us.
