New 2RU and 3RU dual-processor servers provide innovative technologies for outstanding performance, reliability and value in demanding environments

FREMONT, California -- October 10, 2002 - Themis Computer has announced two new Intel® Xeon dual-processor servers for use in demanding military and aerospace environments. Themis RES-22XE and RES-32XE servers are based on the Intel Xeon processor and NetBurst microarchitecture technologies. The RES-22XE is Themis most compact dual Xeon system in a 2RU (Rack Unit) 17" deep chassis, and the RES-32XE is offered in a 3RU configuration that provides users maximum I/O flexibility and high performance.

Themis engineered the new RES-22XE and the RES-32XE servers for configurability with single or dual Intel Xeon processors, at 1.80GHz, 2.20GHz, or 2.40GHz, and connection to a 400 MHz Front Side Bus and 800 MHz memory bus. With an AGP Pro expansion slot and a wealth of I/O and storage options, the modular design of the RES-22XE and RES-32XE servers allows users versatile configurability and system expansion. Themis new system use Intel's new modular 800 family chipsets. The Intel 860 chipset delivers high system performance and scalability. The P64H 64-bit PCI Controller Hub supports the system's 64-bit 33 MHz or 66 MHz PCI slots. The P64H uses the Intel Hub Architecture; it connects directly to the Memory Controller Hub (MCH) to establish a dedicated path for high performance I/O.

Themis new RES-22XE and RES-32XE systems deliver new, innovative technologies including Intel Hyper-Threading Technology, Intel NetBurst microarchitecture, and InfiniBand technology which transparently bridges PCI over InfiniBand connections. Themis new servers provide four InfiniBand connectors for PCI expansion and connectivity to other Themis servers or PCI hosts. The RES-22XE and RES-32XE systems offer outstanding platform performance, dependability, and value.

Both systems may be configured with up to 2GB ECC protected Rambus Memory, and are easily expanded through the addition of commercially available, off the shelf networking cards, I/O, peripherals and other value-added options to meet current and future system requirements. The expansion versatility of the RES-22XE and RES-32XE provides ample headroom for integration with current and future server and workstation platforms.

Themis new servers support a broad range of proven solutions on a variety of operating systems, including Windows®, LinuxÒ, and NetWare®, to provide users with the flexibility that their computing environments and applications demand. To ensure reliable operation in harsh environments, Themis designed the new systems to withstand shock loads of 25 G @ 12-40 ms (MIL-901D).

The RES-22XE dual-processor system delivers the robust design of Themis Rugged Enterprise Server (RES) family in a low-cost, compact chassis design. The Intel technology-based system is designed for demanding applications aerospace and military environments. The RES-22XE is the only system in its size that features both an AGP Pro graphics slot and Zero-Channel RAID (ZCR) support, enabling the system to provide graphics performance beyond the capabilities of similar systems with on-board AGP graphics support. The RES-32XE, Themis Computers new 3U dual-processor server/workstation, combines the robust design of Themis Rugged Enterprise Server (RES) family with six PCI slots and storage expandability. The rugged RES-32XE reflects Themis Computer's extensive expertise designing high performance systems for use in demanding environments. This new system combines proven Intel Xeon processor, Intel 860 chipset, and Adaptec Zero-Channel RAID (ZCR) technologies with Themis proprietary thermal and mechanical design techniques to achieve superior I/O configuration flexibility and performance.
