GlobeTel Communications Announces Joint Venture with TrueSpeed Wireless, Inc. to provide "last mile" solutions to its foreign partners

GlobeTel plans to couple its voice options with TrueSpeed's data capabilities to provide last mile solutions to its foreign partners. This will also give GlobeTel's foreign partners the ability to expand GSM or other cellular networks by providing wireless "backhaul". It will allow cellular companies to construct cell towers without the expense of pulling fixed network connections to the tower sites.

GlobeTel announces Joint Venture with TrueSpeed Wireless
Miami -- October 9, 2002-GlobeTel Communications Corp. (OTCBB:GTEL), announced today that it has entered into a Joint Venture with TrueSpeed Wireless, Inc. TrueSpeed is a facilities based high-speed wireless IP service provider. TrueSpeed has developed a total solution for the ultimate wireless last mile" connection that provides true broadband Internet and voice connections utilizing 802.11(b) 11 Megabits per second equipment. TrueSpeed has successfully deployed its Wide Area Network in Orange County, California. GlobeTel and TrueSpeed have formed a new JV company called TrueSpeed Global. Targeted countries of first deployment for TrueSpeed Globals technology will be Malaysia, Venezuela, Bangladesh, Poland, Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam, China and Australia, commencing in the 4th Quarter 2002, where GTEL is currently doing business and has many more potential opportunities. GTEL plans to couple its voice options with TrueSpeeds data capabilities to provide last mile solutions to foreign partners. This will give foreign phone companies the ability to provide dial tone and Internet services at a fraction of the cost to hard wire facilities. TrueSpeed Global will also give foreign partners the ability to expand GSM or other cellular networks by providing wireless back haul". This will allow cellular companies to construct cell towers without the expense of pulling fixed network connections to the tower sites. Another benefit of TrueSpeeds products is the PCMCIA interface card and IEEE 802.11(b) standards. This card slides into a laptop and offers several benefits including freedom to move anywhere within coverage areas, roaming capabilities, low drain on laptop batteries hot swap capabilities and more. While in the coverage area, a person will have complete access to the Internet and will also have the ability to use the laptop with voice over Internet protocol technologies.
