SAN DIEGO, California, and JUPITER, Florida, Oct 15th, 2002 -- San Diego-based Authentium Inc., creators of the Curtains for Windows integrated security and authentication suite, and Florida-based Command Software Systems Inc. a leading developer of antivirus technologies, announced today that they have joined forces in an acquisition designed to provide banks, ISPs, and small to medium sized corporations with advanced user authentication, antivirus, firewall, content filtering, and integrated Internet security products designed specifically for todays increasingly security-conscious economy.

Drawing on Authentium's expertise in multi-protocol authentication and Command Software' proven reputation in antivirus and expertise in Internet security applications for small and medium companies, both corporations say they view this as an opportunity to help small and medium business owners better protect themselves, using the latest in security technology, and become more knowledgeable of network security events. The acquisition will also allow Authentium to fulfill its strategy to combine the power of authentication with advanced security technologies in order to create trusted networks for small and medium companies.

According to Authentiums Founder and CEO, John Sharp, the teaming of Authentium and Command represents a major step forward for both companies. We have already been working with Command for almost two years now. In our opinion, their approach to antivirus technology is second to none. They have a fantastic team of developers and support and sales staff, and great customers. By combining our resources worldwide, we will be able to achieve our goal of becoming a leading provider of integrated security and authentication solutions."

Helmuth Freericks, Command Softwares CEO added; In todays environment, Internet security companies need to provide a broad range of integrated products designed to combat emerging risks. Our merger with Authentium gives us access to new markets, a broader array of advanced technologies, and top tier partners. We are incredibly excited about what lies ahead."
