A first for Personal Chefs in Canada
First ministry recognised "Personal Chef Diploma" now available in Ontario, Canada
The Canadian Personal Chef Alliance and Liaison culinary college are proud to announce the launch of the very first
"Personal Chef Diploma" program in Canada, officially recognised by the ministry of colleges and universities.
Terry Henderson owner of the Alliance and Susanne Mikler Corporate liaison for Liaison college have worked with the ministry of colleges and universities to get the program approved. "The course is an 80 hour program, filled with all the information needed to start and operate a successful Personal Chef business" says Mikler.
"We have spent hundreds of hours putting together a truly unique program for new and seasoned Personal Chefs" says Henderson, "With the industry in it's infancy in Canada we felt it was important to give Personal Chefs a legitimate Diploma program, something that would give Personal Chefs a recognised and official diploma to present to potential clients and peers alike!
The program covers all areas of setting up and operating a Personal Chef business, from Marketing to food safety and recipe development, as well as some basic cooking drills, like basic sauces and knife skills" says Mikler. "The first pilot course will run in November at the Bloor & Jane Liaison Campus", says Mikler, "but we do expect to offer the course in our other locations once we have tested and run the first program in Toronto"
Henderson who has been a Personal Chef for over four years owns and operates ChefByNite Personal Chef service in Toronto, and recently expanded operations by bringing in Paul Foster from England, "Paul basically runs ChefByNite now, while I grow the Alliance says Henderson" "We launched the Alliance a little over a year ago, and have grown rapidly with over 120 members across Canada
