LEADING LAW FIRMS SELECT DESPATCHBOX DDX TO PROVIDE SECURE CLIENT EMAIL
-Lewis Silkin and Nicholson Graham & Jones will both offer clients a way to use email that ensures messages remain Confidential, Private And Secure-
UK, 14th October 2002: DespatchBox today announced that leading London law firms Lewis Silkin and Nicholson Graham & Jones are implementing DespatchBox DDX to provide their clients with a secure and accountable method of exchanging emails with their lawyers. The DDX system will be branded with the insignia of each firm to provide the electronic equivalent of headed paper.
DespatchBox DDX is fast becoming the standard for secure email in the legal sector due to its robust security, simplicity and ease-of-use. DDX enables firms to apply added security to their existing email solution (MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise) ensuring email contents remain private and are only viewed by those for whom they are intended.
Jan Durant, IT Director at Lewis Silkin said: "We decided to look for a solution that would add control and security functions to our current email system in order to protect the email traffic between our clients and us. Being an 'out-of-the-box' solution made DDX very attractive as did the relatively low initial outlay and flexible licensing. We will start by offering DDX to a small community of clients and then add licenses as we need them. We believe offering this service will provide us with an advantage when talking to prospective clients, especially those wishing to complete highly sensitive transactions."
Andrew Collier, Head of IT Systems at Nicholson Graham & Jones added: "We have comprehensive security policies for every aspect of our network including e-mail which has grown to become one of our main channels of client communication. It surprises me that many organisations do not include email when designing their in-house security policies.
"We decided to add DDX to our security portfolio because it operates without the requirement for software to be installed on the recipients computer; an advantage over other solutions where security policies prevent the downloading and installation of third party software. The use of DDX via Microsoft Outlook is an advantage as almost no user training is required."
Many law firms are looking to follow Law Society Guidelines* on e-mail use. These guidelines recommend that firms should not include confidential information in non-encrypted e-mail without the informed consent of clients, whether corporate or individual and warn that the Internet is an insecure medium.
Ben Mitchell, sales manager at DespatchBox, said: "We are delighted to welcome Lewis Silkin and Nicholson Graham & Jones as customers. The legal industry has been looking for a suitable solution to secure email for the past two years and DespatchBox has worked closely with them to develop a tailored solution. We are confident that DDX meets their criteria and will quickly become the standard for secure partner to client email."
