Address Guardian Offers Grief Support Center
Address Guardian is offering a "Grief Support Center" on its website to provide free information and services to Grief Support Groups. With the information, grief support groups can help their members get the names of lost loved ones off direct mail and telemarketing lists.
Charlotte, NC, October 16, 2002// Direct mail addressed to a lost loved one is one of the last things a grieving mother, daughter, son, father or spouse needs to see. Now a Charlotte, NC-based company is offering a free resource to help stop direct marketing targeted to the deceased.
The company - which says that almost 17 million people get direct mail to the deceased - is offering a free support center on its website for grief support groups. The support center includes a downloadable booklet with information about getting a deceaseds name off direct marketing lists, form letters to send to direct mailers, a link to the Direct Marketing Associations Mail Preference Service and other materials.
In addition to the materials, Address Guardian is offering its enhanced service -- which normally costs $9.95 -- free to grief support groups. The enhanced service is an upgrade from the companys free basic service. Both services are designed to help families get the names of their lost loved ones off direct marketing lists.
With the holidays coming up, we know that millions of American families are going to get inundated with mail reminding them that their lost loved one is not going to be there with them," said Jim Veilleux, President of Address Guardian. In a perfect world, wed offer the enhanced service free to all, but since dealing with a group reduces our costs, we can at least offer that service to the people served by the grief support community."
Grief support groups are generally mutual support groups run by therapists, hospice organizations, funeral homes, churches and volunteers to help people deal with the loss of a loved one. There are thousands of such groups across the country and several organizations that offer professional materials and training to them. With the Grief Support Center, these groups can be more effective in helping their members get the names of the deceased off direct marketing lists.
Members of the grief support community who want to take advantage of the Address Guardian grief support center can go to the Address Guardian website at www.addressguardian.com/griefsupport.htm. Individuals who want to register for the companys free suppression list" service to stop marketing to the deceased can go to www.addressguardian.com.
