Arts Horizons, a leading arts in education non-profit organization, will be hosting an awards ceremony at the Firebird Restaurant in Manhattan to honor Harold Prince, Linda Lavin and Wyeth. The recipients are being recognized for their services to the arts and children.

Wyeth Receives Award for its Support of Arts Education
(Englewood, New Jersey) October 15, 2002 -- Arts Horizons, under the dynamic Chairmanship of Celeste Holm, is one of the leading arts-in-education organizations in the tri-state area, reaching over 500,000 children annually. On Thursday, October 24, 2002, 6:15 p.m. at the Firebird Restaurant (365 West 46th Street), Arts Horizons will host a cocktail supper reception sponsored with a $10,000 grant by this years Wesley Addy Award recipient, Wyeth. Two additional awards will be presented: the Celeste Holm Lifetime Achievement Award to Harold Prince and the annual Paul Newman Award - for services to the arts and children - to Linda Lavin.
Immediately following the awards ceremony, guests will see a performance of Hollywood Arms at the Cort Theater (138 West 48th Street); a new play based on Carol Burnetts best-selling memoir, One More Time. Carol Burnett, with the help of her daughter Carrie Hamilton, created the play before Ms. Hamiltons death this past January. Harold Prince, the winner of 20 Tony Awards, is the shows producer and director. Guests will also have an opportunity to meet members of the cast after the show.

Celeste Holm is Chairman of Arts Horizons. She has appeared on Broadway in Bloomer Girl and The King and I and her movies include Gentlemans Agreement (for which she won an Academy Award), The Snake Pit, All About Eve, The Tender Trap and High Society. She has been knighted by King Olav of Norway, arrested by Mayor Koch of New York City, and appointed to the National Arts Council by President Reagan. She has long regarded the arts as the most humanizing force in our society and sums up her passion for arts education for children by saying, I know first-hand through my life and work that involvement in the arts fills the need within us for identity and offers limitless opportunities for learning."
Arts Horizons is a non-profit organization dedicated to vitalizing education through music, dance, theater, creative writing and the visual arts. Artists from Broadway, Lincoln Center and all over the world reach over 500,000 students, teachers and parents annually through school assembly programs, workshops and artist-in-residence programs. Its special after-school program, Creative Alternative for Youth at Risk, uses the arts as a means of helping young people in inner cities address social problems while learning workplace skills for the 21st century.
